Jay Maisel is an American Photographer. He was born January 18, 1931 in New York City. He first studied visual art and graphic design at Cooper Union and Yale. Soon after graduating, he took up photography. Since then he has won many awards some of which are the Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Infinity Award of the International center of Photography. While Jay Maisel had photographed iconic people such as Marilyn Monroe and Miles Davis, he was best known for his photographs utilizing bright light and vivid colors. Currently along with taking photos professionally Jay Maisel also teaches, giving photography seminars around the world.
